At London open today we were still within the apex of the Daily triangle on EUR/USD as well as many other pairs. Zoomed into a 15m chart we also had a series of higher lows and lower highs, for a smaller trap/triangle to work with. Right at London open the Eur/Usd wicked above the upper trap line indicating it may want to break. Upon closer inspection we noticed that we did not make any significant lows on the entire previous 1m stochastic cycle. Once the stochs recrossed up the 1m macd looked poised to do the same. In this video we highlight how we built & executed a complete trade plan on the Eur/Usd using primarily Fibonacci retracement for entry right when the 1m macd recrossed, along with Pivot points (daily & weekly) bollinger bands, ema’s and longer term Fibs for targeting. This trade even getting in after the break/retest still had a comfortable 3-1 risk vs. reward ratio before reaching it’s first resistance obstacle, which ultimately became a nice short. The forex uptrend was still in place, but showing signs of weakness. Retracement is becoming more and more possible. MACD Divergence, rejection at a Reversal Pivot Point, a 61.8% Retracement and a Triangle break eventually all pointed down. Target was the 138.2% Fibonacci Extension which over lapped with a Support Pivot Point.

The US FOREX Trading Session started flat for the USD, so we focused on the Canadian Dollar today. After a break of resistance, price topped out at the R1 Pivot Point for a very technical trade. GBP/USD was in a very definable price trap during today’s pre-London market. We had a series of Higher lows without any higher high’s. We were approaching an inevitable apex of the small 15m triangle right as the London market was opening. A breakout or break/trap plan was a very acceptable plan to at least the 4 hr 21ema, with a possible overall target with overlapping pivots etc. around 179.15. After the breakout this video walks you through how we step by step ‘loaded the boat’ at each Fibonacci pullback for a nice 70-100 pip trade (not including the reloads compounding effect). This was a very technical trade that could still reach it’s ultimate goal today if Britain does not cut rates today. Another day another set of pips! Have a great weekend folks.
